The sun is up, the sky is blue, and the students here at MMLA Pomona are out enjoying the pleasant summer weather. Yesterday’s perfect temperature allowed many of the students to get their workout on during activity time.
The World Cup is on, and the love of the game has spread! Football fever is infecting the Spanish Academy, and it seems like not a day goes by without seeing students kicking around a soccer ball, working on their skills. Yesterday was no exception, as students took to the quad to channel their inner Lionel Messi. Spanish students also practiced their dancing as well.
The French Academy, on the other hand, opted for a rousing game of dodgeball. As per usual with dodgeball, teams bonded over hurling playground balls at one another all in good fun!
And what’s any physical activity without some stretches? Spanish RA Charlie led a group of Spanish students in a relaxing round of good old calisthenics in a shady area of the quad.
Students here aren’t letting the language pledge hinder their physical activities. Rather, the guidelines of the language pledge allow the students to be intentional and creative with all that they do, physical activity included.
